We moved to the Athens area summer 2015. While trying to figure out what I should do with my time I discovered the bee keeping class at the Botanical Gardens. I got my first two hives in 2016. My goal was to have an Instagram worthy set up of two hives in my backyard. I met up with another local bee keeper to mentor me through my first year. I went from my two pretty little hives to 8 hives by the fall and have not looked back.

I continued to learn and work with my mentor for another year, and my apiary began to grow and morph to what it is now.

Currently we have about 20 hives spread between Oglethorpe and Clarke county. I have discovered I am really good at making big hives with lots of honey and lots of bees!
